From the mental_floss Amazing Fact Generator:

"Dock Ellis, a pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1970s, threw a no-hitter while under the influence of LSD. At certain points during the game, Ellis said he couldn’t see the batter or the catcher, and as a result, relied on the baseball to tell him where to throw it."

Music meme

Stolen from [personal profile] nowjanuce , because I can't resist oracular randomness, and for extra fun, using the enormous playlist that absorbs everything from everyone and never gets cleaned out. Put on shuffle, and let's see what it gives me...

A bit of amusement below the cut. )

Poems Written for Alcohol Part 2: Crowd Participation Edition

A while back, I started the Buy John a Drink Fund, and I've gotten some contributions. I promised I'd write a poem of praise and gratitude for whoever tossed me a few quid. Tim at [personal profile] starfleet posted his here if you're a friend of theirs, but this one's for [personal profile] veluriel .

Before we get to the poem, get yourself a piece of paper or a word document or sommat, and write down some words:

1. adjective
2. noun
3. noun
4. adjective
5. adjective
6. verb
7. noun
8. plural noun
9. verb
10. noun
11. plural time period [i.e. weeks]
12. adjective
13. phrase
14. phrase
15. noun
16. verb
17. noun
18. noun
19. verb
20. adverb
21. noun
22. noun

Now fill them in...

No peeking! I see you thinking to cheat. Won't be as funny if you do, though, will it? )

A friend and I are trying to collaborate on a bit of a writing project. He's got the talent, I've got the loose morals and lack of shame. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah, journal of me own. Ain't I just a trendy little fucker.

So what's the etiquette for this, then? Do I go dig up old entries elsewhere and build a nice little archive? Hop in and be cryptic? Answer a dirty survey that's been written by a 16-year-old? Threaten to off myself if you don't follow me back?

This Internet thing is complicated.
